About Dan B. Lee
I hate to say it but there isn’t much to say. I’m not going to speak of myself in the third because this is my blog, my work.
I began in the IT industry in Tampa, FL roughly ten years ago working for a friend building cheap Linux boxes in a cage close to the Madison Building (for those of you that know your backbones) for unknown websites. About a year later I began tinkering with my own web hosting solution and created a small business with a close friend called Status Internet Solutions. (I just went back to that website to build this About Page but haven’t been back in well over five years.) The businesses I hosted taught me to be dynamic enough to accept any form of work, so long as it paid the bills. My clients would continually ask if I knew decent web developers and I’d suggest developers time and time again until I realized what money I could be earning if I did website work myself. After studying a little photoshop and SEO I began doing my own website design, which turned out to be lucrative enough to keep website design near the top of my resume. I then picked up work for a financial firm in the Tampa area doing Helpdesk work, which led to the deep interest of Network Administration. The resource availability and lenient management allowed me to explore each spectrum of Network Administration. The dynamic atmosphere was enticing and lead me to learn everything from imaging, security and application support, to switching and routing, mail services, mobile devices, and virtualization technologies.
Today, I work for a Managed Hosting Solutions business called SyApps, LLC. Their headquarters reside in Herndon, VA. Our data centers are available all over the U.S. and our team is located in Tampa, FL. In my spare time I play on the highest competitive level of Ultimate Frisbee while my boxer mix Captain Fredrick Pabst keeps my feet warm.

The internet has saved me many, many times over the course of the last decade. danblee.com is a way for me to give back to those that have helped me so much throughout the years. The posts are derived from questions that either took a while for me to find on the internet or questions that could not be answered on the internet at all. I’d like to think that my struggling for information leads to your searching success, should you find yourself here.

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, and die gallantly. Specialization is for insects. – Robert Heinlein
