danblee.com is getting a facelift

May 20, 2015 by Dan B. Lee Leave a Comment

What sort of a web-designer webmaster website developer person would I be if I just let danblee.com go on without being mobile first? In the next few weeks I'll be moving over to a mobile friendly website theme. I'm currently tweaking a theme I purchased (because I have created a theme from scratch since 2009) which will be mobile friendly. Here are a few other things I'd like to accomplish: Less shitty ads. Ads, but less shitty ones. Disqus integration while keeping the ability to just … [Read more...] about danblee.com is getting a facelift

Disabling Tweeting about YoutTube subscriptions and likes

April 3, 2015 by Dan B. Lee Leave a Comment

I'll be honest, I'm not a very big twitter user. So for me to discover that I was spamming the twitterverse with notifications of videos that I've like or channel I've subscribed to on YouTube I was a little shocked. It had been going on for a few months! I know I linked my twitter account to YouTube, but where the heck were those settings? In my google account? YouTube? Twitter!? Welp, I finally found them. Here they are: Log into YouTube > Click your Icon\Avatar at the top right > … [Read more...] about Disabling Tweeting about YoutTube subscriptions and likes

AvayaLive Engage

February 7, 2013 by Dan B. Lee Leave a Comment

I wanted to post a quick blurb in regards to a demo we just had from the Avaya Team. We were invited to demo the AvayaLive Engage interactive environment and we were really impressed with what we saw. For those who are unfamiliar, AvayaLive Engage is a web based interactive environment. Their marketing team would probably scoff at my use of the word "game" because its intentions are strictly work and collaboration, but the whole realm is designed using the Unreal Engine. Once inside the … [Read more...] about AvayaLive Engage

Trillian fixes Windows 8 & Skype Bug

December 4, 2012 by Dan B. Lee 1 Comment

Without looking into things too far, Trillian has fixed the bugs associated with Windows 8 and Skype in Version 5.3 Build 7. I made a post about it here with the quick fix. It's good to see that Trillian worked through the issue and they are now firing on all platforms. Such a relief! The Beta I downloaded that worked The very latest Beta released by Trillian The Beta that released the fixes for Skype My old post about this issue A portion of the release notes regarding Windows 8 … [Read more...] about Trillian fixes Windows 8 & Skype Bug

WAMP does not work with Skype

October 18, 2012 by Dan B. Lee Leave a Comment

WAMP and Skype both use ports 443 and 80 by default. If you have Skype open (or a third party skype tool that uses the skypekit.exe) and try to use WAMP then you'll be able to bring your server online but you won't be able to start services fully. Here's the fix: Head into Skype options and uncheck the box that says "Use ports 80 and 443 as alternative for incoming connections". Close and Open Skype. Restart Services on WAMP EDIT: I've seen issues where restarting services doesn't … [Read more...] about WAMP does not work with Skype

Skype Not Working in Trillian on Windows 8 [Update: Fixed]

October 16, 2012 by Dan B. Lee 1 Comment

This issue has been resolved in later Beta Releases. A new post has been made regarding the update. If you've never used Trillian before, prepare to be inspired to consolidate your social chatting. Sure, you'll probably want a full sized web app of some sort to deal with the major parts of social media. But what if you just wanted something easy enough to handle your every day chatting? Trillian takes care of that. Create an account, then log into every (Every!) account you have … [Read more...] about Skype Not Working in Trillian on Windows 8 [Update: Fixed]
